Abstract (EN)

Developing and changing technological conditions in today's modern societies, and accordingly transforming and progressing social structure to a great extent to determine interpersonal relations and communications. Interpersonal relations and communications always exist since they enable humankind to sustain its lifelong existence. The interpersonal communication process, starting with birth, also opens the doors of socialization which the person needs. The person who is able to create a sustainable and meaningful structure in their interpersonal relations and communications benefits from a number of advantages provided by interpersonal communication. While self-disclosure within interpersonal communications enables the person to know both themself and the ones they communicate with, it also provides an opportunity to approach and consider their own emotions and opinions from a different point of view. Furthermore, self-disclosure, which provides information and opinion share, increases the interaction as it is based on the sharing and sustainability principal. Self-disclosure within interpersonal communication includes some risks and drawbacks, especially in regards to sense of trust at the stage where sharing private information emerges. Self-esteem, which in fact exists within the person, arises from the points that do not serve the true self and the self a person wants to be in their mind. It shows an emotional property which can be developed in the process and contain healthier and positive features after the difference comes down to the lowest level between these two selves. Self-esteem, which is closely related to the emotional side of the self, appears to be a property used in the interpersonal communication process. In this context interpersonal communication, which exhibits a cyclic and quite complicated structure, has been affected by properties of people in the communication process as well as environmental factors. This research studies the correlation between the self-disclosure and level of self-esteem of people during the interpersonal communication process. The results of the hypotheses related to the research are explained in detail according to the statistical data given by the participants.
