The relationship between personality characteristics, entrepreneurship tendency and innovation: An area research

Every human being has different attitudes and behaviors in the face of events. Personality characteristics are influential on individual decisions and behaviors. Although each person's biological structure is the same, our reactions to events differ from each other. It is possible to evaluate these differences with the personality structure. Personality characteristics were analyzed with the dimensions of the five factor personality model. Entrepreneurship, however, has become a very significant issue in recent years with its economic importance and social factors. Entrepreneurship is one of the most important factors that play a major role in economic development with the rapid development of technology and the facilitation of information access. An innovative business enterprise would ensure its success continues as long as it outscores its opponents. Personality characteristics are one of the significant factors influencing entrepreneurship tendency and innovation. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between personality characteristics, entrepreneurship tendency and innovation. In this context, a study was carried out by a face - to - face survey method of 277 students who are studying in the last grade of Business Administration, Economics and Political Science and Public Administration Departments of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. In the study; personality characteristics, entrepreneurship tendency and innovation are analyzed by Pearson Correlation; the relationship between the dimensions of personality traits and other factors was also investigated. As a result of the study, although there is a weak relationship between personality characteristics and entrepreneurial tendencies, a statistically significant relationship was found. A statistically significant and positive relationship was found between personality characteristics and innovation. There is a statistically significant and positive relationship between entrepreneurship tendency and innovativeness.
