Abstract (EN)
Personality types come to the fore with different characteristic features. Therefore, individuals' choices, tastes, behaviors, reactions, etc. İn their lives are affected by the personality traits the carry. Therefore, it was expected that individuals' outdoor recreation self-efficacy is individuals' belief in their success in outdoor recreation activities. It affects people's participation in outdoor recreation activities. In this thesis study, the mediating role of outdoor recreation self-efficacy in the effect of personality types on the for adventure behavior seeking was investigated. When the literatüre was examined, personality and adventure behavior seeking have been the subject of many separate studies. However, the relationship between outdoor recreation self-efficacy and these concepts has not been examined. Therefore the study is considered important because it addresses the gap in the literature and provides information to businesses providing recreation services. The study used a survey techniques as a quantitative research method. Three different scales were used: 'Five Factor Personality Scale', 'Outdoor Recreation Self-Efficacy Scale' and 'Adventure Behavior Seeking Scale'. The data were collected from 500 Turkish participants over the age of who participated in at least one of the hihg-risk recreation activities : motocross, paragliding, rafting, skiing, rock climbing, hang gliding, water skiing, bunge jumping, parachute free jumping, kite surfing, free diving, scuba diving, woke boarding. The obtained data were analyzed with Smart (PLS-YEM) and SPSS programs. The data were subjected to Cronbach alpha, confirmatory factor, concurrent validity, discriminant validity, R2, F2, structural equation and path analysis. As a result of the study, it was concluded that personality types have an effect on outdoor recreation self-efficacy and adventure behavior seeking. In addition, outdoor recreation self-efficacy was found to effect both adventure seeking and to have a mediating role between personality types and adventure behavior seeking and to have a mediating role between personality types and adventure behavior seeking. In particular, it can be said that outdoor recreation self-efficacy has an important mediating role between extroverted personality type and adventure behavior seeking.
