Smart cities and data privacy in the context of personal data protection

The emergence of smart devices with the development of technology has revealed the concept of smart cities. In a data-driven world, it was unthinkable that our cities would be deprived of it. Sustainable life, together with the need for nutrition and shelter of the increasing population, has forced cities to some changes. However, protecting the privacy and personal data of people living in smart cities has become an important issue. In fact, the use of surveillance technologies with tools such as cameras and sensors in smart cities is important for us to understand where smart cities stand in the field of social psychology.
