Evaluation of the documents prepared within the scope of the personal data protection law from the perspective of the general terms and conditions

This thesis focuses on the evaluation of the documents prepared within the scope of the personal data protection law from the perspective of general terms and conditions. Our study examines the historical development of personal data protection law in the European Union and Turkey, current regulations in European Union and Turkish law, main concepts and basic principles that dominate personal data protection law. In line with the ultimate purpose of the study, whether the three sample documents prepared within the scope of Turkish law, namely the information text, explicit consent text and storage and destruction policy, can be evaluated within the scope of general terms and conditions or not is discussed by making use of the provisions regarding general terms and conditions. Finally, the findings and analyzes regarding whether these texts can be evaluated from the perspective of general terms and conditions and what impact they may have within the framework of Turkish law are emphasized.
