The Effects of Kisspeptin to Some Reproductive Paremeters in EwesIn this study, it was investigated, the effects of the administrations of Kp-10 on some reproductive parameters and preovulatory LH profiles in ewes. As the materials of this study, 60 Pirlak ewes of similar age and weight were used. Ewes were randomly allocated into 3 experimental groups including 20 ewes in each. Estrous cycles were synchronized by an PGF2 ? (cloprostenol 250 µg, i.m) which was administered twice, 10 days apart in the breeding season. Following a second cloprostenol injection, the Group 1was treated with kisspeptin-10 (1 µg / kg) once at 40th h but the Group 2 was treated with Kp-10 (1 µg / kg) twice at 40th and 50th h. The Group 3 was not treated with Kp-10. All group of ewes were mated with ram at 42-43rd by hand mating system.Group 2 (22,06 ± 28,90 ng/ml) plasma levels of LH at 50.5 h was found higher than Group 1 (9,15 ± 11,44) and Group 3 (2,27 ± 3,12) (p=0.005). Onset of LH surge and peak time of LH occured similar time in all groups. Preovulatory LH peak concentration of Group 2 (38,45 ± 27,51) was found higher than Group 1 (24,68 ± 11,69) and Group 3 (21,11 ± 17,97 ng/ml) (p= 0.030). Duration of LH surge was 18,63 ± 7,21, 18,03 ± 5,00 and 12,55 ± 6,93 h respectively in Group 1, 2 and 3 (p= 0.009). Levels of LH AUC at 55 h Group 1 (126,58 ± 79,96) and Group 2 (168,05 ± 132,91) higher than group 3 (83,05 ± 82,89) (p= 0.042).All of Group?s P4 and E2 hormon profiles were found to be smilar. Pregnancy diagnosis was performed on day 30 and 60 post-mating by means of (B- mode real time) ultrasonography. In all group, rates of conception, prolificacy and fecundity were found to be similar.As a result, in this study, it is identified that Kp-10 administration had statistically significant alteration some LH profiles but has no effect on reproductive parameters.Key Words: Ewe, Kisspeptin, Pirlak, Preovulatory LH, Reproductive parameters.
