Abstract (EN)
This work is formed of the study of Hayat u Memat which was translated from Persian to Turkish by Firdevs-i Rumi, translation text and directory that is sheltered on the dictionary which is based on the text. Introduction is formed of the chapters of life and works of Firdevs, introducing of Hayat u Memat, spelling characteristics of the text phonetics, translation text and directory. In the introduction are mentioned the period of Old Anadolian Turkish language, topic, significance, purpose and methodology of the work. Then, the life and works of the writer are explained and also the piece which is the subject of this work is introduced. In the spelling chapter, the usage of the top, the middle and the end of the vowel sound and consonant in the word are shown. In the phonetics chapter are given acoustic phenomenons occurred in the vowel sounds and consonants and also synchronous and diachronic words are shown. In the directory chapter are given the meanings of contextual words and also places of these words in the text are shown with the numbers. Book that is subject to this work was translated in 16th century (1508), in İstanbul. The work, according to the period of writing and language characteristics is the product of one of the periods of the Old Anadolian Turkish Language - Transition Period to the Classical Ottoman Turkish Language. The work carries religious, mystical and moral character. Only version of the piece named Hayat-name is in Suleymaniye Library, Hacı Mahmut Efendi no 2333. The piece, which was written in the first half of 16.century reflects the characteristics of Old Anadolian Turkish Language. It was written in Naskh font type with Arabic diacritics. It is consisted of 99 leafs, 15 lines of verses. There are also pages (6a,26b) where there are 16 lines of verses. Dimensions of the book are 248x147 - 163x99. Lines and borders of the cover are brown leather.
