Abstract (EN)

For ages, the book is a tool used for transfering the knowlegde. The book has been developed with the innovation of the day brings, kept up with manking and become an integral part of it. Book for a graphic designer, in any form, is a graphic design product that should be designed for the correct transfer of information, emotion or idea. In this study, printed books and e-books have been researched via graphic design guidelines and principles. In the first section, printed book and e-book has been tried to be introduced over their history and definitions, while in the next section, design principles and the Gestalt Theory, were examined through book design examples. The role and the importance of typography, page design, and grid systems were emphasized in book design and tried to find out some mistakes that were made. In the third section, the printed book and e-book have been questioned in terms of visual communication and interaction. Issues like movement, time and third dimension have been discussed in printed book and e-book designs and their roles at visual communication were tried to be explained towards examples.
