Abstract (EN)

In this study, the presentation of the subject in mass animation film narratives is analyzed. The purpose of this study is to examine these film narratives in the social, cultural and ideological context through the subject positions as actants. The hero as the subject actant is in his way on its narrative trajectory comes to a possession of a competence (being-able). The Actantial Model, Narratives Syntax: Quartet Scheme and Semiotic Square designates the deep and surface structures of Cars and Wall-E. As a result it is clearly observed that, while constructing the narratives, mass animation cinema is using the codes of the conventional narrative cinema, presenting its characteristics and there is a huge similarity between the subject characters of conventional narrative cinema and mass animation cinema characters. Also, it is proved that mass animation cinema is supporting to spread the American culture and ideogy as being in a close relations to dominant cultural, social and economical structures.
