Abstract (EN)

This study aims to evaluate the effects of weapons of mass destruction and explosives on humans and the environment within the scope of Japan and Turkey. In this context, first of all, information is provided on the definition, scope and characteristics of weapons of mass destruction, and attention is drawn to the classification of weapons of mass destruction. Then, the elements of nuclear, chemical and biological warfare used in the classification of weapons of mass destruction are evaluated. Then, attention is drawn to the use of weapons of mass destruction and explosives in the examples of Turkey and Japan, and the development and recovery process after Japan's use of explosive materials. The study emphasizes that CBRN threats can be used for negative purposes other than their national use, and therefore, it is important for countries not to use their existing weapons for aggressive purposes other than security purposes, and not to sell these data and weapons to external elements for commercial purposes. As a result of the study, it has been determined that weapons of mass destruction have long-term, environmental and life-related negative effects, especially after their use in wars, and that the use of weapons of mass destruction should be reduced and prevented to the extent possible. Studies and initiatives such as the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons have been supported intellectually, but it has been seen that the creation of a transparent global structure with the cumulative participation of countries will provide positive results in this direction.
