Abstract (EN)
The aim of this thesis study is to prepare chitosan microsponge system, to add the drug substance benzydamine hydrochloride which is used as analgesic and antiinflammatory to the drug delivery system, to improve a new drug delivery system which is showing controlled release and to do characterization of the system. Benzydamine hydrochloride is commonly used drug substance for the treatment of inflammatory conditions of the oral cavity, soft tissue and skin. It is a nonsteroidal drug that possesses analgesic, antiinflamatory, antipyretic and antimicrobial propeties. In this study, chitosan microsponge system containing benzydamine HCl was improved. For the characterization of the formulation, X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), infrared (IR), surface morphology (SEM), swelling index and surface pH measurement analyzes were performed. Release profile and release kinetics were analyzed and stability study of the formulation was made. Key Words: Benzydamine hydrochloride, Chitosan Microsponge, Anti-inflammatory, b Sustained Release
