Abstract (EN)
The skin integrity may be disrupted during an injury and burn cases where the person may consequently be vulnerable to external factors. Clinical cases may lead to death due to sepsis caused by microbial infections. In this thesis, it was aimed to develop a wound care formulation using low, medium and high molecular weight chitosan, Pluronic F-127 and "Hamamelis virginiana" distillate, respectively. As a result of rheological studies, the thermoresponsive properties of the formula were investigated for the potential of releasing more active substance by increasing the contact time when applied to the desired area on the skin. The antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activities of the developed formulations against skin pathogens were tested using different in vitro methods before and after microbiological studies. In conclusion, to the best of our knowledge, a spray formulation was first made as a wound care product in the form of biofilm systems using chitosan, Pluronic F-127 and H. virginiana raw materials in the current study. The formulation, which can be applied in a spray form may significantly improve in terms of patient-compliance performance.
