Idea of the contract and the principles of the political society in classical anarchism

The main proposition of this study is that anarchism is a model of political power. Because anarchism has not dreamed of a world in which individuals are completely isolated. Anarchism aims at a society united on the ground of equality and freedom. So, it does not mean normlessness. The authority of natural laws and morality is accepted as the key to the order, and contracts between individuals are applied in spheres not regulated by these. If the contracts are considered as a milestone, it is the state of nature before them and the political society after them. This evaluation is valid for all the anarchist thinkers. However, there are differences in its content. Then, bearing in mind the differences, it must be found the principles of the anarchist model of political power on the basis of the contract. For this purpose, the structure of the idea of social contract which composed of the state of nature, the contract, and the political society gives convenient opportunities. The first chapter focuses on destruction. Because anarchism sees other models of political power as an enemy. However, the destruction indicates a phase that must be overcome, the same as the state of nature of the social contracts. In this chapter, the enemies of anarchism and the reasons for hostility are discussed generally. The second chapter focuses on the contract thinking in anarchism and the sense of freedom and equality related to the contract. In the last chapter, it is tried to be found the principles of the intended political society. In conclusion, anarchism must principally be considered as a model of political power.
