Abstract (EN)
This study examines the places of double bass in the Classical Period chamber music repertoire. Chamber music literature of the period was searched and a list of works with double bass was created. It is believed that based on such data the study will contribute to concert performances and the educational curriculum and serve as a guide as well. When the historical process is considered, the Classical Period is a very rich era in terms of the development of double bass music and technique. In this period, besides traditional use of the double bass in the orchestra, which started to be appreciated as a solo instrument, its role in chamber music works changed and attained a place in the solo parties in addition to its feature of being an accompaniment instrument. In this context, the Classical Period is considered as a turning point in terms of literature, technique and usage of the instrument.
