Abstract (EN)
The increase in energy demand in proportion to the increase in individual energy needs and population density, and the need to find a safe, efficient and environmentally friendly response has brought the use of smart grids to the agenda. Smart grids and communication are two integrated concepts that have a significant impact on each other. Smart grids have taken their place in daily life with the development of technology, have been developed over time and have become global. Electronic structures, which are among the indispensable systems for human life today, are strengthening their place day by day with the advancement of technology. One of the most important components of smart grids is smart meters. Smart meters enable accurate energy measurement and two-way information flow. In this thesis, the future of smart grids and their importance on life in the current order are mentioned. The basic points regarding smart grids and communication systems, which are indispensable for each other, are discussed. In an example application, the transformation of classical meters into smart meters, which are indispensable for smart grids, is demonstrated.
