Abstract (EN)

Classical Turkish literature is a literature that has been influenced by Iranian and Arabic literature in terms of form and content after the Turks accepted Islam and maintained its existence for six centuries. Classical Turkish literature; in the 19th century and later, it has been exposed to criticism on the grounds that it is sometimes abstract, dreamy, detached from the public, and sometimes includes elements belonging to different civilizations. Artists such as Namık Kemal, Ziya Pasha, Recâizâde Mahmut Ekrem made heavy criticisms to classical Turkish literaturein the Tanzimat period and later. Although classical Turkish literature has been influenced by the understanding of poetry of Arabic and Iranian literature, it is not independent of the cultural, historical and social realities of the Ottoman geography. When we look at the advices given to people and society with the aim of creating an ideal society, we have seen that classical Turkish literature is not detached from the public. In the advice; It is seen that every subject related to human beings from birth to death, including universal moral rules, social customs, family relations, neighborly, kinship and hospitality manners, is mentioned. In this thesis, Bedr-i Dilşâd's Muradnâme, Güvahî's Pendnâme, Emir's Advice, Nev'îzâde Atâyî's Sohbetü'l-ebkar, Sünbülzâde Vehbî's Lutfiyye, Murshid's Pendname has been addresssed. There are many advices about the family institution in the aforementioned advices. It has been mentioned that the marriage of men and women is a religious order as well as being a social expectation. The family established by marriage provides the continuation of the generation through halal ways, as well as ensuring the social order. Because of this feature of the family, advices about marriage is often included in the advices. Singleness, marriage, spouse selection, husband - wife relations, interpersonal relations within the family, the right of parents, the duties and responsibilities of parents towards the child, the duties and responsibilities of the child towards his / her parents, education of children at an early age and many topics such as the importance of education are given, and advice is given to the reader on these issues in the six advices we have studied. In the advices, the poets emphasized that the family is the core of the society. The fact that the poets give wide coverage to elements such as marriage and family reveals that classical Turkish literature is not far from social life.
