Our clinical results of arthroscopic anatomic reconstruction of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) with autogenous hamstring tendons

Abstract (EN)
We evaluated the early results of arthroscopic anatomic reconstruction of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) ruptures using autogenous four strand hamstring tendon graft at this study. At this retrospective study, we evaluated 44 patients undergo arthroscopic reconstruction of ACL tears whom are treated surgically between January 2015 − August 2015 in Gaziantep University Hospital department of orthopaedics clinics. All patients were evaluated with Lysholm knee score for functional evaluation, range of motion of the joint, stability tests, thigh atropy measurements, complications rate, subjective satisfaction for clinical evaluation at the end of the postoperative 10,31 (7 – 14) months. Our patients mean age was 27,2 (range 19-36). 16 (%36,3) patients have medial meniscus injury, 5 (%11,3) patients have lateral meniscus injury, 2 (%4,5) patients have medial and lateral meniscus injury. The clinical evaluation of patients before and after surgery, according to Lysholm score were 56,64 (range: 27-89) and 93,18 (range: 78-100), respectively. 14 patients Lysholm score was between 95-100, 29 patients Lysholm score was between 84-94 and 1 patients Lysholm score was between 65-83. Besides, mean Lysholm score of the group with meniskus injury was not significantly different according to other group with no meniskus injury. Before deciding surgery, patient choice and patients expectations are very important. Besides we must inform patients about the rehabilition programs and its importance. As a result, anatomic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction results using autogenous hamstring tendons were found to be satisfactory.
