Abstract (EN)
Co43Fe20Ta5.5B31.5 is one of the bulk metallic glass alloys which has the highest fracture strength (5185 MPa) that has been reported so far. However, this alloy has limited critical casting thickness, which is only 2 mm. Also, raw materials of the alloy are very expensive and production cost is very high. For these reasons, critical casting thickness of this alloy must be increased and production cost must be decreased in order to use it in industrial applications. Therefore, in this study, iron content is increased in order to reduce production cost and niobium is added to increase the critical casting thickness of the alloy.
