Abstract (EN)

The sustainable competition has become more and more difficult in recent years. And this has effected especially SMEs in our country. The main factor is that both financial resources are limited and SMEs can not compete in big markets. In order to ensure the competitive advantage of SMEs primarily. It is necessary to focus on human resources which have been recognized in many countries in the last years. Establishment of a human resources department and training and development of the human resources which is the key points of human resources department and the enterprises is gaining more and more importance for SMEs to gain competitive advantage both inside and outside. The aim of thesis study is to investigate the role of training and development in providing competitive advantage in SMEs operating in white good sub-industry in Eskişehir and to evaluate the findings in their own context. For this purpose, the basic data of there search, opinions obtained by the help of an interview with 7 SMEs and 1 ABİGEM managers we reformed. In the light of the qualitative analysis of the data collected in the study, the evaluation of the role of training and development in SMEs in providing competitive advantage was made by including the suggestions put forward. The findings obtained from the comparative analysis show that education is a must. It was concluded that the education in SMEs is inadequate and the employees are mostly unqualified. Furthermore, it has been determined that competition in SMEs is aimed at informal employment and low cost employment. Keywords: SMEs, Training, Sustainable Competitive Advantage
