Abstract (EN)

SME's have an important role in terms of contributing to the country's economy. They produce economic value with the increase of domestic employment and the exports they make. Therefore, these enterprises need to be supported in order to ensure their development. Various policies are followed in many countries for this purpose. Crediting is one of these policies. Meeting the loan needs is of vital importance for the development of SME's. The more favorable conditions SME's can access the loans they need, the easier it will be for them to make a breakthrough. In this study, titled ''The Credıt Process Of Banks In Fınancıng SME's; An Example Of Manufacturıng Enterprıse'', the application processes to banks in meeting the loan needs of SME's and the analyses made by banks in these processes are focussed. In this framework, in the thesis, firstly, the definitions of SME's, the general structure of SME's, their advantages and disadvantages, financing problems and financing resources are given, and then while evaluating SME loans by financial institutions in Turkey, the methods to be applied by the analyst have been explained. Attention has been drawn to which issues the analyst should attach importance to during the allocation and use of SME loans by banks. It has been tried to reveal the ways that SME's should follow in order to see their own credibility by including many analyzes, especially psychological, SWOT, sector, financial and credit analyses. In this study, a sample financing process is presented by using the data of a manufacturing enterprise operating in the iron and steel industry. In this study, which was prepared to contribute to existing resources for the healthy processing off all these processes during the transportation stages of SMEs to credit, it is seen that many SMEs have difficulty in obtaining credits due to the lack of systematic establishment and operation and that banks are insufficient in providing the information, documents and guarantees they want. For this reason the fact that banks deal with their activites for SMEs not only with the logic of marketing, but also as if they are providing a consultancy service, may have positive results for both the financial institution and the business.
