Abstract (EN)
This study examined the Alo Son Hotline project from various aspects within the framework of social work. In this context, research has been conducted on the themes of what kind of achievements the elderly injured by the project have achieved in psychological, social, economic, cultural fields, and what are the emotional and motivational achievements of volunteer employees. In this qualitative study, which aims to reveal from the point of view of social work what changes the project in question, which is maintained by local governments, has created in the lives of citizens, what kind of benefits it has provided, the interview technique has been used. The research was conducted using a semi-structured questionnaire with 20 elderly people living in Kartepe who benefited from the project and 10 volunteer employees who took part in the project. In the interview, the participants were divided into two categories as service recipients and service providers. The service recipients were asked about their health status, how their social relations with family, relatives and neighbors are, how the inclusion processes take place within the scope of the project, what services they use, whether they have expectations for services other than those, and how they evaluate the effects of the project on their lives. The volunteer employees were asked about the decision-making processes to participate in the project, at what stage they took part, what their contributions were to the services offered, and what kind of feelings and thoughts these contributions aroused in them, what their sources of motivation were, and whether there were any services they wanted to add to the project. In the light of the findings, the most important factor in terms of the elderly participants is the lack of anyone to take care of them and visit them. It has been observed that there is a feeling of loneliness and oblivion. Economic and health problems that restrict their socialization are also other factors. As a result, an foster a sense of companionship and connection between the elderly and services have been tried to be provided in this direction. It is observed that there is a social work application in which the feelings of loneliness of the elderly are alleviated and the team in which the feelings of belonging are formed is quite satisfied emotionally and motivationally.
