Abstract (EN)
This study includes `?Mineralogy, Geochemistry and Origin of Copper Mineralizations in Koçali (Adıyaman) vicinity??. The copper mineralizations in the study area, observed in the Koçali Melange, which was trusted over Arabian platform at Upper Cretaceous, are located to the north of Adıyaman. In the study area, the basement consist of spilitic pillow lavas and diabase (Tarasa Formation) , radiolarian, pelajic limestones and spilitic pillow lavas (Konak Formation) and serpantine, diorite and diabase (Kale Formation) which are belong to allochtonous Koçali Melange, settled as a result of gravity sliding. Towards up, the Germav Formation discordantly overlie on the Konak Formation and Gercüş Formation discordantly overlie on the Germav Formation. The Midyat Formation concordantly overlie on the Gercüş Formation.The position of ore, which takes part in the Havşa Dere stockwork mineralization, is N 80 ? W/50 ? NE. The geometry of Kevrikevr Tepe mineralizations is lenticular and the lenses. The position of ore is E-W/550N in this area.According to MORB-normalized muti-elements spider diagram, Koçali ophiolitic rocks display large-ion lithophile element (LILE; e.g. Ba, U, K and Pb) enrichments compared to high field strange elements (HFSE; e.g. Nb, Th, P ve Ta). Chondrite-normalized rare earth elements (REE) exhibit flat or light rare earth element (LREE) enrichment patterns. The REE and MORB normalized multi-element patterns and tectonomagmatic discrimination diagrams of Koçali ophiolitic rocks, suggest that these rocks were formed in suprasubduction zone metasomatized by slab-derived melts and/or fluids.The observed main ore minerals are: pyrite, chalcopyrite, bornite, chalcosine, covellite and sphalerite. Primarily pyrite, chalcopyrite and bornite, secondarly chalcosine, covellite and limonite occured. Chloritization, carbonatization, silisification, hematization, limonite and epidote alterations were observed in wall rocks near mineralizations.It was thought that the mineralizations in the studied area, exhibit the general features of Cyprus Type Massive Sulphide ores. In this manner, massive ore and gossans formed at the upper parts of the volcanics, which have high permeability, and stockwork ores formed at the lower parts of them.Geological, petrological, geochemical and ore paragenesis features suggest that the deposit can be introduced as a Cyprus-type (Ophiolite-hosted) VMS deposit.Key Words: Geochemistry, Copper, Koçali, Ophiolite
