Abstract (EN)
In this study; thermodynamic analyses of cogeneration, or in another term, compound heat and power systems were carried out, the factors that influence the system preferences of compound heat - power plants, how to use cogeneration technologies efficiently, availability of cogeneration in regional heating and economical feasibility of cogeneration were investigated. By using the real manipulation data of Esenyurt cogeneration thermal plant and applying energy and exergy analyses unit by unit, each units' total exergy input and output ( thermo ? mechanical exergy + chemical exergy) and lost exergy were determined; comparison among annual electricity - heat production and classical regional heating plant and fuel costs were conducted
