Values in the works of Kokturk and Uighur Periods and opinions of the prospective teachers about these values

This study was carried out in order to analyze the social values in the ancient monuments of Kokturk and Uighur Periods of Old Turkish and to reveal the perception level of these values today. In accordance with this purpose; exploratory sequential mixed pattern has been adopted in the research patterned as a multi modal. The qualitative dimension of the work was designed by the method of document examination; within this framework, The works chosen on behalf of the Pre-İslamic Period among the works of Old Turkish Period, Orhun Inscriptions, Uighur Period Inscriptions (Shine Us, Tes, Tariat), Irk Bitig, Huastuanift, Altun Yaruk (First Book, Prince and Hungry Pars Story), Good and Bad Prince Story, DPKAM (Chashtani Bey Story, Dantıpali Bey Story) were examined according to ten basic values and subvalues in Schwartz's Value Scale. During the examination, the value statements expressed in the works were determined and for this, "Document Analysis" was used as qualitative data collection techniques. The quantitative dimension of the work is designed in survey model; starting from this point of view, "Questionnaire Form on the evaluation of the Social Values in the works of Old Turkish Periods according to the views of Turkish - Turkish Language and Literature Teachers Candidates" was created. In this questionnaire, both the importance of the values in the Schwartz Value Scale, the ways in which it is perceived today, the definitions of values created by the action of ETD works, the process oriented substances related to the tranfer of values have been included. The questionnaire was applied to 427 Turkish and Turkish Language and Literature teachers who received educated in 2016-2017 education year. Qualitative data obtained from the research were analyzed by Content Analysis Method and quantitative data were analyzed by Mann-Whitney and Kruskal Wallis tests. As a result of the research, It has been determined that ETD works are very rich sources of social values, the values in the works are available in the present day, Turkish and Turkish language and literature teacher candidates have participated to the views moved in concert with the works.
