Özet (EN)

Rapid developments in cities, migrations, socio-economic conditions and living areas are developing rapidly and societies are taking their place in this development. The processes of development/change that occur cause the traces of historical tissues to be erased and lost over time. The areas of Hacı Yusuf Taş Cami (Yeni Cami) and the Egyptian Bazaar and Coppersmiths Bazaar, which are located in the vicinity of Malatya, which contain historical features, which comprise the components of history-Time-Spacehuman, and which constitute memory spaces, were examined. In his thesis, the design proposals prepared for historical streets and squares in Turkey and the world were examined and the interactions between Malatya Yeni Cami and the surrounding areas were examined. Oral history method was used in the study. In recent history, the importance of the new mosque and its surrounding bazaars in people's memory has been tried to be understood by oral history studies. In the light of the data obtained, we tried to reflect the historical features of the Yeni Cami and its surrounding area by taking into account the collective memory and the design proposal was prepared.
