Abstract (EN)

The aim of this thesis is to prepare of silicates to use as HPLC column packing materials and to analyze the mixture containing aromatic compounds with sol-gel synthesis methods. In this thesis, firstly, mesoporous ans particular silica structure was synthesized with surfactant controled reaction condition by sol-gel methods from tetraethylorthosilicate. Then, colunm packing materials with different surface activities, were prepared from this silica structure by surface modification reactions. In order to change of surface functionality of silica, columarine and vanillic alcohol were used. In the second part of the study, semi rigid polyurethane-silica hybrid materials as monolitic column packing materials were synthesized. The prepared column packing materials were characterized in term of their structure, morphology, and thermal behaviour. The microstructures and morphology of the obtained samples were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) equipped with an energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDS). Thermal properties of prepared polymers and polymeric composites were determined with TGA, DTA and DSC analysis. Size and composition analysis were determined by SEM and EDX techniques. As a result, the synthesized silica-based materials were investigated as a column packing materials in the analysis of different mixture analyzed with HPLC technique.
