Özet (EN)
Aim In this study it was aimed at to estimate the effect of he training, which was prepared by selecting the Health Belief Model as the baseline, on the adaptation to colorectal cancer (CRC) screening. Methods Research was planned as randomized controlled study aiming at evaluating the results of the given health training. Research was conducted between May 2018-January 2019 with the individuals who didn't have Fecal Occult Blood (FOB) aming CRC screening fot the last two years registered to Dokuz Eylül Universty Family Medicine training primary care clinics. Sociodemographic Data Form and Health Belief Model Scale for Protection from Colorectal Cancer were used ase data collection tool. Participants were split up as random intervention group and control group via a preconditioned computer programme. While Health Belief Model based training given to the intervention group, Standard information was given to the control group. All of the individuals participating the resarch were given verbal information about CRC, screening and test kit and test kits were delivered to them. CRC Screening İnformation Consent Forms were takend from all the participants. After training if there was a difference between intervention and control groups in terms of CRC screening behaviour adaptation or not was evaluated with the rate of delivering FOB tube within the determined period. The data of the research were evaluated in SPSS (Statical Package for Social Science for Windows 24.0) programme. Findings Of 256 participants participating the research 126 participants were in intervention group and 130 participants were in control group. After Health Belief Model based training practice while 106 (%84,1) of participants in intervention group delivering the test-kit, 45 (%34,6) participants of the standard informed group delivered the test-kit and it was found out that there was a significant difference between them. (p=0,00) Participant of intervention group participants to CRC screening was 2,43 times more than of the participants in control group. (Relative risk: 84,1/34,6) The training given Health Belief Model based, provides a 49,5 rise of the participants' CRC screening behavior adaptation than standard informed one. In order to increase the CRC screening behavior adaptation we should give Health Belief Model based training at least two individuals. Results CRC which mostly can be identified at advanced stages causes significant socioeconomic burden, financial and spiritual loss at both social and individual level. In order to prevent this situation the most important control strategy is screenings. Unfortunately participation to CRC screening is not at the desired level. To be able to increase the participation to screening is highly important for both protecting the individuals and public health. Health Belief Model based training, we used for our research, significantly increased the adaptation to CRC screening. Nevertheless to be able to generalize this result to public additional studies are needed. Key words: Colorectal Cancer, Fecal Occult Blood, Screening, Health Belief Model
