Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, thermoeconomic analysis of a district heating system consisting of 300 buildings in Çatalağzı district was carried out by extracting steam from different stages of low pressure turbine of a coal fired power plant which produces electricity only. Therefore the distances between all buildings and the power plant are measured due to dimensioning of pre-isolated pipes carrying hot water. Three different cases were designed when dimensioning of pipes: high/medium/low temperature district heating (DH) system. Space heating demand and domestic hot water heating demand of district were calculated and the total heat demand were calculated including heat losses at pipes. The steam was extracted from the second stage of low pressure turbine due to high/medium DH applications and from the third stage of low pressure turbine due to low temperature district heating application. Thermodynamics and thermoeconomic analysis of modified power plant and district heating network were performed.
