Use of accounting information systems in accommodation businesses and their implications on the financial sheets: An application in the province of Çanakkale

Technological improvements in the 21st century created a transition of continuation in the world and started the era of knowledge. Thus knowledge has become one of the most important factors both for the nations and the businesses. Improved methods of sales and production, increased competition and decreased profitability have led managers to get use of the accounting data more efficiently. Requirement for the correctness and extensiveness of the expected accounting data have led to the use of accounting information systems inevitably.This study aims to examine financial sheets of a newly adopted business into accounting information system annually during the transformation phase and the contribution of accounting information system to the business?s financial sheets. As a result, it has been concluded that the contribution of accounting information system is far greated than the financial and social problem soccured during the transition phase.Key Words: Accounting Information Systems, Accommodation Businesses, Financial Sheets, Automation Systems, Integration System.
