Özet (EN)

The city of Safranbolu, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1994, has become one of the most important visiting points of tourism with its rich housing texture and monumental structures. Traditional residences of Safranbolu, which are an important part of Turkish history and are protected by registration, have been intensively re-functionalized and converted into accommodation structures in the last two decades. However, re-functionalization studies also lead to various changes in the original characteristics of the structures. In this study, İmren Lokum Konak building which was built in 1795 in the center of Safranbolu, was demolished in 2007 and rebuilt in accordance with the original. Therefore, in this study, it is aimed to investigate the transformations that traditional houses undergo as a result of their changing functions and thus the effects of interior properties. During the study process, archives and documents were researched basically for İmren Lokum Konak. The rolove, reconstruction projects, and the current situation were analyzed. First, restoration studies, physical condition after restoration, problems and requirements were determined and then supported by drawings, photographs, and tables. Based on the investigation, this study presented valuable proposals for the re-functionalization of similar traditional houses. Key Words: Safranbolu City, Traditional Safranbolu Houses, Interior Design, Re-functionalization
