Abstract (EN)
Purpose: In our work, the synthesis of Chondroitin Sulfate containing hydrogels using a natural polymer such as carboxymethyl cellulose is aimed. Hydrogels are defined as polymers that have a water-swellable three-dimensional network structure. For this reason many natural polymers and polysaccharides have been used.Chondroitin Sulfate N-acetyl-linked D-glucuronic acid is a glycosaminoglycan composed of Dgalactosamid. Carboxymethyl cellulose belongs to the natural polymer group and is widely used in many areas in recent years. The main aim of the work is to design biocompatible hydrogels with unique values and high swelling capability. Material and Method: Hydrogels were synthesized by free radical polymerization. Structural characterization of the hydrogels was performed using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR / ATR). The surface porosity of the hydrogels is taken up by SEM micrographs. Swelling tests were performed in phosphate buffer at 25ºC to observe the swelling capacity of the hydrogels. Time-against-weight graphs are plotted with the obtained data. Drug release experiments were done with KS as a model drug. Drug release assays were performed at 210 nm with UV-VIS Spectrophotometer. Results: Chondroitin sulfate addition Carboxymethyl cellulose based hydrogels were compared with acrylamide based hydrogels: Chondroitin sulphate-added Carboxymethyl Cellulose-based hydrogels have been observed to have a biocompatible, higher swelling capacity. Conclusion: It is thought that the designed hydrogels are unique according to the literature, provide guidance for future studies and have potential for usability in biomedical products.
