Abstract (EN)

Together with being a subject for a detailed research in the literature for a long time, acoustic design of the halls, also exacted the use of sound support systems in these buildings along with the changing needs and expanding hall designs. Sounds system in general have a frequency response that is total of all the frequency characteristics including all the equipment on signal route; ranging from received microphone signal to the produced sound from the speakers. Thus, every single chosen equipment's frequency characteristic has a role in determining the system's overall performance. On the other hand, when we are talking about acoustic designs, main determinants for the given space's acoustic character are volume and form of the space as well as the amount of absorbents used and the locations those absorbents placed. Concert halls like any other space have a certain design principles and acoustic value intervals. This research should have some limitations regarding the fact that it is not possible to calculate the overall performance of a sound system. Thus, in this thesis, speaker performances are going to be evaluated as a substitute for the complete sound system. In the beginning, acoustics designs of the exemplary concert hall will be realized to give away the values falling within the international standards. Then, differences between the acoustic performance and electroacoustic results of the halls will be determined after the instalment of appropriate speaker systems. The aim of this research is determined as to have the hall's acoustic and electroacoustic performances as close as possible to each other. It is within the aim to reach the optimum design and the speaker system per the calculations regarding various acoustics design options and various speaker systems. The chosen concert hall for the research purposes will be modelled and uploaded to the ODEON simulation software and the data retrieved will be evaluated.
