Abstract (EN)
In this research, the effect of critical thinking program, which was taught through the content based approach in the course of Science History, on the critical thinking tendency and level of the teacher candidates of Information Technologies was studied. The research is designed according to one of the experimental research designs of pre-test, post-test, control group research design. The groups of the study are constituted as an experimental group and a control group. The researcher gave the course to the experimental group.In this research, the effect of critical thinking program, which was taught through the content based approach in the course of Science History, on the critical thinking tendency and level of the teacher candidates of Information Technologies was studied. The research is designed according to one of the experimental research designs of pre-test, post-test, control group research design. The groups of the study are constituted as an experimental group and a control group. The researcher gave the course to the experimental group. In the research, third-year, day-time college students, who are the experimental group of the study, were applied content-based critical thinking program in the ?History of Science? course and the control group who are the night-time students were applied nothing but the direct method and assessment instrument were used.The data collected through the research were analyzed using the SPSS 11.5 statistical packet program. After arithmetic mean and standard deviation of the data were given descriptively, one-way analysis of variance analysis (ANOVA) and co-variance (ANCOVA) analysis were performed. The results the research findings can be summed as:1.When California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory (CCTDI) pre-test points of experimental group who were applied content-based critical thinking program and the control group are checked, there is significant difference comparing to their post-test points in favor of the experimental group.2.When Ennis-Weir Critical Thinking Essay Test (ENNIS-W) pre-test points of experimental group who were applied content-based critical thinking program and the control group are checked, there is no significant differences comparing to their post-test points.3.When subject area pre-test points of experimental group who were applied content-based critical thinking program and the control group are checked, there is no significant differences comparing to their post-test points.4.No relation is found between California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory and Ennis-Weir Critical Thinking Essay Test.
