Abstract (EN)
Stuttering is a kind of speech disorder that is so common in the world. Characteristics of stuttering can be defined as involuntary repetition, prolongation or arrest of sounds. Suppression is defined as the decrease in the OAE ampiltudes while conducting OAE and stimulatingthe contralateralear with the white noise.This study conducted with the two groups adult people between 18 and 56 years old. They have no hearing or healty problem and each groups consisted of 30 people. Both groups were compared in terms of TUOAE, DPOAE and TUOAE with contralateral suppression,For TEOAE test on the right ear for 2000-3000-4000 Hz values found higher for the control group than the other group(p<0,05).The results of the CLS test indicated that the right ear signal values was low in the patient group (p<0,05). For 3 and more frequencies TEOAE suprression, right ear values found to be beter for the controul group then the group who has a problem with fluently speaking problem. It was not found a significant difference between both groups regarding their left TEOAE signal suppression values and bilateral SNR values.As a result, it was found that the decrease of the CLS values of the people with disfluency was fewer than the values of the control group. This indicated that it can be pathological change in efferent system. Key Words: stuttering, medial olivocochlear system, contralateral suppression, hearing, otoacoustic emissions
