Proving the acoustical comfort in the auditoriums is possible with the high speech intelligibility. The speech intelligibility depends on a certain number of subjective and objective factors which include the room, audience and the speaker. The position of the speaker can be considered as an important factor according to the audience. In the auditoriums, the movement of the source will change the direction of the sound as well the room acoustics parameters, therefore the intelligibility of the speech will be affected. The coverage of this study includes firstly intelligibility and room acoustics parameters that affect the speech intelligibility and the variation of room acoustics parameters according to the position of the source with specified three different plan type and various surface absorptions are examined. In the study, the acoustics simulation program ?Odeon? is used. The three dimensional drawings of the rooms, the positions of the sources, the acoustic materials and the audience spots are inserted as the data to the program. The movement of the speaker in the auditoriums, with optimum situation (optimum reverberation time situation) and different surface absorptions, is being examined. It is searched, in the audience spots, whether the determined room acoustics parameters (RT, EDT, D50, STI and SPL(A)) are between the right gaps and the amount of the value differentiation occurring due to the different source positions in terms of graphics and diagrams in the study. In the study, the effects of different source positions in the auditoriums according to the acoustic comfort conditions are tried to be examined.
