Abstract (EN)

In this study, perceptions about the technologies used in home or workplace security were tried to be measured. In this context, it aims to examine the technologies used in home and workplace security, the advantages and disadvantages of these technologies, the technologies needed, and people's perspectives on security robots. The interview method, which is one of the qualitative research approaches, was used in the research process. Personal information forms and semi-structured open-ended questionnaire forms were used as data collection tools. With the interview form, the participants' views on the security technologies they use, the security technologies they want to use, the advantages and disadvantages of security technologies, and the robots used in security services were examined and evaluated. Content analysis was performed using MAXQDA Plus 2022 software to analyze the application data. The study sample consists of 56 people residing in Kastamonu. The data obtained in the study were coded by considering the questions and literature and analyzed using hierarchical code sub-code models, code frequency tables, cross-tabulations and word cloud. The results of the study revealed that the participants think that security technologies play an essential role in our lives to ensure our security and that they add value to our lives and make them more accessible. The most critical negativities of security technologies are that they violate the privacy of private life, create a feeling of being followed in every aspect of our lives and reduce their private space. Security robots, which continue to exist as the last element of security technologies, will begin to take their place in our lives. Participants have the opinion that the use of security robots in dangerous missions and continuous work without autonomous mobility, by keeping the human element under constant supervision, will be very useful in the field of security technologies and will facilitate the activities carried out in the field of security. It is widely believed that security robots will proliferate in all areas of our future lives and will be a part of our lives as a continuous element.
