Abstract (EN)

The total amount of solar radiation and the change of it over time are important parameters for the design of solar-powered systems such as planar collectors, photovoltaic systems and other solar energy collectors. For solar energy applications, these parameters need to be known. However, direct measurement data is generally not available for those parameters. Therefore, numerical calculations that utilize some measured meteorological data are an effective alternative method to estimate total radiation. In this study, various models developed for solar radiation estimation for Turkey and some other countries were examined to determine the appropriate model or models for Konya-Beysehir. Statistical compatibility of the models examined was tested and the model or models that gave the closest results to the measurement data were determined. The results obtained from some models in the literature used to determine the monthly average daily total solar radiation incident on horizontal surface were compared with the measurement data received from the General Directorate of State Meteorological Affairs, based on statistical error tests. Five different Angström-type new models have been developed: linear, square root, logarithmic, exponential and cube root, for the estimation of monthly average daily total solar radiation incident on horizontal surface for Konya-Beysehir.
