Abstract (EN)

The study area is located in an area between the Divanlar and Beşağıl districts (Karatay, Konya) including the Doğudağ rise in the east of Konya. Geological mapping was carried out at a scale of 1:25.000 over a total area of 460 square kilometers. The Upper Permian-Upper Cretaceous aged low grade metamorphic rocks known as Altınekin Metamorphic Complex in literature crop out in the region. In this study, it is aimed to explain the structural and geological evolution of these rocks. The Late Permian-Early Jurassic Bademli Formation forms the base of these metamorphites. It is made up of dark gray and black colored dolomite marble and dolomites. The Late Triassic-Early Cretaceous Nuras Formation conformably overlies the base unit and consists of cream and gray colored marbles originally deposited in a shallow-marine stable carbonate platform. It is conformably overlain by the Late Cretaceous Karasivri Formation composed of metacarbonates intercalated with metachert and metapelite. The Late Cretaceous Milis Formation consisting of metaclastics conformably overlies the Karasivri Formation. All these units are tectonically overlain by the Late Cretaceous Koçyaka Ophiolitic Melange. All these rock units have undergone metamorphism and polyphase deformation during the Alpine orogeny. The region has been effected by extensional tectonics resulted in the formation of the Divanlar and Göçü faults in the west and southwest of the study area since Late Pliocene.
