Parasitic diseases and pests of apis mellifera in Konya region

This study aimed to detect and reveal the prevalence of parasitic diseases and pests seen in Apis Mellifera in the Konya region. Samples will be taken by random sampling method from colonies where unexpected decrease in colony population or sudden colony loss has been observed in Bozkır, Beyşehir, Çumra, Çeltik, Meram and Derbent districts where beekeeping is intensive in Konya region. Infested comb samples taken from 5 colonies selected from each apiary and an average of 20 adult bees suspected of disease or dead, collected in accordance with the technique, will be examined parasitologically. Species identification of parasites and pests detected in bee and honey comb samples collected from hives will be made by using relevant sources. Parasites and pests seen in honey bees in the Konya region and their prevalence will be determined.
