Investigetion of the antimutagenic activites of plant seeds Coriandrum sativum L. species from Konya district

Abstract (EN)

Coriandrum sativum (coriander) is grown in our country, especially in the Marmara, Southeastern Anatolia and Western Mediterranean regions, in calcareous and alkaline soils that are suitable for coriander production. The above-mentioned regions are seen to be compatible with the plant being suitable for the soil structure. However, it is seen that it can be grown with seed sowing as a culture in provinces such as Ankara, Konya, Eskişehir and Niğde. In this study, samples taken from the Konya region were studied, and this substance, which is exported as a commercial product after cultivation, was considered to be used in packaging technique and for this purpose, it was predicted that biological and phytochemical activity tests would be used, and seed extracts of the plant were studied. Oxotrophic Salmonella typhimurium strains, which require the histidine amino acid for incubation of the plant, were used in the biological and phytochemical tests of the seed extracts. By changing the bases used in incubation (TA 100s) and frameshifting (TA 98) experiments to provide base resolution were performed on 4 samples. On the strains, the incubation time for his bacterial formations was monitored after TA98 and T100s administration. Following incubation, for standard his¬ bacteria observation on S. thyphimurium TA98 (frame shift) and TA100 s (base pair replacement) samples on C. sativum seeds, antioxidant testing was performed from genomic tests at the time of sampling, mutagenic with repeat post-infection test. Spontaneous revertant colony numbers were observed in the number of revertant colonies by performing antimutagenic tests. In the results of the study, it is considered among the substances that can be added as additive components to packaged foods with their possible antimutagenic properties. In this sense, the findings to be obtained as a result of the study were evaluated together with other studies with similar purposes.
