Özet (EN)
Lyme disease is a multisistemic disease and frequently seen in Europe and United States. The disease is considered to be prevalent in our country, however, the seroprevalence studies are insufficent. For this reason, it is aimed to detect the seroprevalence and aerial distribution, gender anda ge specifity and species predisposition for Lyme Borreliosis in İzmir region. A total of 92 sera samples are tested in this study by ELISA method in order to detect anti-Borrelia IgG antibodies. As a result, 5 (5.4 %) of the samples were found to be seropositive. The results indicate that there is an infection potential in young and full breeded dogs in İzmir region and the appropriate precaoutions has to be taken for prevention of teh disease and protection of public health.
