Abstract (EN)
In this study, 12 dogs from different age, breed and sexes were used. Formation of calculus of each animals were recorded in a printed paper. Dividing teeth into 4 groups in the same animals right upper and lower left as group1 (Ultrasound cleaning animals) and left upper and right lower as group2 (manuel cleaning animals) were considered. Calculus formation index was determined then dogs were anaesthesized. Wilcoxon signed rang test used for the diffferences between groups. For each tooth indices of controls for pretreatment, 3rd and 8th months were analysed.Less calculus formation was seen in large dogs than small dogs. Increase in calculus associated with age and diet was recorded. No difference was noted between sex and calculus formation.Calculus prevalance was identified as 62.5% in canine teeth, 18.7% in premolar1, 16.7% in premolar2, 25.0% in premolar3, 22.9% in premolar4, 20.8% in molar1 and 12.5% in molar2.No significant difference was observed in the 3rd month of control. Significant difference in detartarage process was seen during the 8th month controls only in canine teeth (p<0.05).There was significant difference between both techniques however manuel cleaning was more economical but ultrasonic cleaning was easier and practical when used according to the directions.
