Abstract (EN)

The Comparison of Clinic and Cardiopulmonary Effects of Xylazine, Medetomidine and Detomidine in DogsThe aim of the study, alpha-2 adrenoceptor agonists (xylazine, medetomidine and detomidine) effects on clinical and cardiopulmonary system in dogs were evaluated. The study is carried out using total 30 dogs, ages 1 to 4 years, both gender, body weighting between 10-28 kg. The dogs were divided randomly into three groups which include 10 animals. Following the first 12 hour hunger, 1 mg/kg xylazine (im.) for I. group, medetomidine 25µ/kg (im) for II. group and detomidine 20 µg/kg (im) were administered. Before and after injection 5, 10, 15 , 20, 25, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, 150 th. minutes, 6 and 24 hours of body temperature, heart rate, and respiratory rate were recorded. Before and after injection 15, 30, 45, 60, 120 th. minutes, 6 and 24 hours serum electrolyte (Na, Ca, K, Mg) and blood gases (pH, pCO2, pO2, TCO2, HCO3, HCT, O2SAT) were evaluated in blood samples. Before and after injection 15, 120, minutes, 6 and 24 hours of blood samples has taken and biochemical parameters ( glucose, ure, creatinin, ALT, AST, GGT, ALP, total protein, albümine)were all analyzed. ECG was recorded before, during and after sedation. Duration and amplitude of P and T waves, duration and amlitude of QRS komplex, duration of PQ and QT intervals were evaluated. The second derivation, durations and amplitudes of the P, T waves, durations and amplitudes of the QRS complex, durations of PQ and QT intervals were evaluated. 1.st and 3 rd. derivation electrical axis were measured.Value of increase glukose in biochemical parameters were only in I. group was statically significant. Reduction in the number of heart beats in 3 groups were significant (p <0.001). Reduction in the number of respiratory I. and II. groups significant (p <0.001), while the III. groups were not significant. Medetomidine group were only significant decrease in body temperature (p <0.001). The difference changes in blood gases between the groups could not be determined. All groups in the evaluation of ECG: bradycardia, sinoatrial block, 20 Mobitz Type I, 20 Mobitz block, while medetomidine group heart rhythm disordes hane been found such as escape beat, escape rhythm. Caused an increase in the QT interval and PQ vary over time in 3 groups (p <0.001). Amplitude and duration of the QRS complex, P wave amplitude, T wave amplitude and duration of the difference between the groups taken as a statistically determined. As a result, all three alpha-2 adrenoceptor agonist (xylazine, medetomidine, and detomidine) are similar in terms of clinical and cardiopulmonary effects, but was considered medetomidine to be more effective as a preanesthesia agent.Keys Words: Xylazine, Medetomidine, Detomidine, Cardiovascular Effect, Dog,
