The Uighur version of the Koroglu Epic (text-adaptation-analysis)

The Köroğlu Epic is a monument that reflects the collective culture, history and folklore of the Turkish nation. ?Emir Göroğlu Epic? has an important place among the Uighur field of heroic epics. It can be said that the first historical sheets of the Köroğlu Epic belongs to the peroid of cultural and political unity of the Turks and that the epic was later enriched during historical process. ?Emir Göroğlu? is one of the eastern versions of the Köroğlu Epic and it does not include elements different from the main framework and culture which are reflected in Oğuzname?s and in the other versions of Köroğlu. Moreover, Emir Göroğlu Epic reflects elements that are unique to the epic traditions of the Uighur Turks. The most important element that stands out in the epic is the intense use of motifs about settled life.
