Abstract (EN)
The research was conducted as a descriptive study in order to determine the burnout levels and medical error tendencies of nurses who provided care for coronavirus patients. The sample of the study was carried out with 235 nurses working in the pandemic services of university hospital in Ankara between April 2021 and February 2022. Data were collected using the "Personal Data Form", "Maslach Burnout Scale" and "Medical Error Tendency Scale in Nursing". Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistical methods, parametric comparison tests, and correlation tests. The nurses' Burnout Scale score was 36.06±12.81 and the Medical Error Tendency Scale score was 227.86±15.74, and the burnout and medical error tendency levels of the nurses were low. In addition, it was determined that there was a statistically significant, weak and negative correlation between the nurses' Maslach Burnout Scale scores and the Nursing Tendency to Medical Error Scale total scores (p<0.05: r=-0.303). In line with these results, it is recommended to determine the risk factors affecting the burnout level and medical error tendencies of nurses during the pandemic process and to develop individual, institutional and managerial policies for these factors.
