Abstract (EN)
Objective: In this study, our aim was to investigate the accuracy of MDCT angiography by comparing the results of the 64 and the 256-slice MDCT angiography and ICA in 63 patients. Material and Methods: The patients who presented with chest pain and underwent MDCT and underwent ICA within a month following the presentation were studied. In our study group, there were 63 patients (42 male, 21 female) ranging between ages 35-75. The coronary arteries were examined over 15 segments according to the AHA classification. The detected stenoses of coronary artery were divided into 4 groups; normal, non-obstructive (1-49%), significant stenosis (50-74%), high grade stenosis (75-99%) and occlusion (100%). The segment and patient-based analysises were performed by comparing the results of MDCT angiography and ICA. Results: The sensitivity, the specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value were calculated by comparing our data and the results of invasive coronary angiography. In the segment-based analysis regardless of the rate of the stenosis; the sensitivity was 91.5%, the specificity was 95%, positive predictive value was 84.7% and negative predictive value was 97.4%. In the segment-based analysis regarding the detection of ≥ 50% stenosis; the sensitivity was 89.6%, the specificity was 95.9%, positive predictive value was 59.0% and negative predictive value was 99.2%. In the patient-based analysis regarding the detection of ≥ 50% stenosis; the sensitivity was 96.2%, the specificity was 66.6%, positive predictive value was 68.4% and negative predictive value was 96%. Conclusion: The studies concerning MDCT angiography indicate that as a non-invasive method, MDCT angiography is an usable technique in patients of the low and moderate risk group in terms of coronary artery disease.
