Determining the awareness of the family in digital addiction from the perspective of protective and preventive social work the example of Uşak province

This study was conducted in order to explore the awareness of families with children attending primary school in the digital age about the risk of digital addiction that their children may face. Considering today's conditions, the fact that educational environments in the pandemic process have also continued in online environments increases the use of the digital world. Family All individuals are exposed to the screen away from control and supervision because they are forced to under the influence of the pandemic. Considering the current conditions, children are the weakest link in the chain. As a result of overusing the digital world, the risk of digital addiction also stands out. If we look at the issue with the conjuncture, now digital tools are becoming a tool that humanity constantly needs. This situation brings with it the risk of digital addiction. Social work involves interventions at the points where an individual interacts with his environment. It does this in a planned way either after the social problems have occurred or before the social problems have occurred. For this purpose, the planned intervention method is called in the literature. We can consider the discipline of social work in two ways regarding its approach to social problems. We can characterize the first of them as preventive preventive social work, and the second as problem-solving-based social work. But the discipline of social work existed mainly in the field of problem solving in the summer and in practice. This situation does not indicate that social work is a single-method discipline. At the same time, there is also a side that is carried out in order to protect individuals, families and society against the social risks that are expected to occur for individuals in society and to prevent social problems that will occur. The problem-solving-oriented approach alone is insufficient to raise the psychosocial well-being of society. If the discipline of social work is carried out in two branches at the point of application, it is expected that society will be more functional in terms of raising the level of well-being and well-being. Addiction is also one of the protective and preventive areas of social work discipline. It does this by conducting practical studies with dependent individuals and their families under the name of addiction model. In this context, this study has been discussed in order to draw attention to the existing deficiency in the field and the rapidly growing problem today. In this study, it was aimed to explore the determination of family awareness in digital addiction from the perspective of preventive preventive social work. At this point, qualitative research methods were used, interviews were conducted with 14 volunteer participants, and qualitative findings were accessed. The qualitative findings were analyzed by descriptive analysis method. As a result of the study, it was observed that families have a low awareness of digital processes.
