Abstract (EN)
X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and physical-chemical analyses were conducted on soil/sediment/mortar samples collected from the Köşk Höyük (Köşk Mound) dated to the Chalcolithic and the Roman period, located at the Nigde Province, Bor County of the Bahçeli District . The study conducted on the soil horizons/sedimentary layers/mortars aimed to shed light on the pedogenesis and archaeometric research parameters i.e., the palaeo-environmental and palaeo-use (living floors) implications of the mound. The archaeometric approach implemented in this study is recommended as a powerful tool in revealing unknown questions in other excavation sites in Turkey.
