Investigation of some water quality parameters of Kösrelik pond (Ankara)

In this thesis study; Some parameters were measured in terms of water quality by taking monthly samples between May 2020 and April 2021 in Kösrelik Pond located in Keçiören district of Ankara province. These measurements were made at three different sampling stations representing the entire pond. Sampling stations were determined as the northern part of Kösrelik Pond, the eastern part of the pond and the western part of the pond. During the research period, a water sample was taken from the sampling stations every month and analyzed in the laboratory. Along with the measurements made in the field, annual and seasonal values were examined. In order to determine the water quality parameters of the pond, dissolved oxygen, salinity, pH, temperature, electrical conductivity, amount of suspended solids, chloride, sulfate, sodium, potassium, total alkane, magnesium, calcium, nitrite, nitrate, calcium+magnesium, bicarbonate, boron, 19 quality indicators as sodium adsorption rate (SAR) were analyzed. In line with the data obtained as a result of the research, annual values were compared between stations and seasonally, and statistics were obtained. As a result of examining the statistical data, the pond II. class water quality was determined. II. Considering the class water quality characteristics, it has been observed that there is no situation that will cause pollution problems. It has been determined that the pond can be a suitable environment for aquatic creatures in terms of quality indicators.
