Abstract (EN)

Folk beliefs of a society and behaviors related to these beliefs are important for the recognition of that society. Traditional folk beliefs are the elements that are accepted by the society and have an impact on daily life. Nature and animals had important effects on the lifestyles of nomadic tribes dealing with animal husbandry. In this framework, it is seen that the Beritan people live together with nature and its reflections in their beliefs. Our study named "The Folk Beliefs of the Beritan Tribe Living in Kovancılar District and Its Surroundings" consists of an introduction and two parts. In the study, the socio-cultural structures and folk beliefs of the Beritan people living in Kovancılar and its surroundings, the connection of these beliefs with the beliefs in Anatolia and their evaluation in terms of the history of religions were made. In the entrance part, the historical and geographical structure of the district; in the first part, beliefs about transitional periods among Beritans; In the second part, the beliefs about nature and other areas of life among the Beritans are discussed and evaluated.
